There are non-toxic, carbon-negative, environmentally friendly, agricultural bi-product based boards; a more sustainable and low energy alternative to MDF, OSB, or plywood.

This means they are not made from wood but instead straw! A natural waste product from cereal crop production (such as wheat). Not only this, the boards are bonded together with the natural ‘glue’ that binds the cellulose fibres of the plant itself together and only a small amount of resin additive which doesn’t contain any added formaldehyde or other VOCs.

These agricultural bi-product based boards have the same strength properties, stronger screw pull and superior fire resilience properties of MDF, and actually superior moisture resistance properties therefore much better suited for wet environments such as kitchens.
